The Department of Building and Housing (Te Tari Kaupapa Whare in Māori), previously the Ministry of Housing, is a government agency within the New Zealand government. The current Chief executive is Katrina Bach. The Department of Building and Housing is responsible to the Minister for Building and Construction (Hon. Maurice Williamson), and the Minister of Housing (Hon. Phil Heatley)[1].
