Dick McCann

Not to be confused with Dick McCann Memorial Award.

Dick McCann was an Australian comedian and TV personality^[1], based on Brisbane's Channel 7 in the late 60s^[2] and early 70s. As well as performing on Theatre Royal(1960–69), he presented the Children's Hour in the afternoon^[3].

He is well remembered for his character Beanpole^[4] due to his lanky appearance.

McCann won three Logie Awards^[5],

• 1965 Most Popular Male. (Queensland)
• 1969 Best Male Personality (Queensland)
• 1970 Best Local Show (Queensland)
