Direct Supply is a privately held, nationwide provider of equipment, eCommerce services and other services to the senior living industry. Based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin the company distributes more than one million products to the senior living industry. The company is divided into five strategic business units (SBUs) which promote Direct Supply’s mission “to enhance the lives of the millions of residents in Senior Living.”[1]

The company was founded in 1985. Originally, the company sold products exclusively out of its catalog. Today, through its catalog, sales force, and website, the company serves over 21,000 long term care facilities across the country.[2]

Culture

Direct Supply’s culture as an employee owned company is unique. Employees are referred to as “Partners” to reflect that each employee has a stake in the company and its success. The culture of ownership extends to the benefits which the company provides its Partners. On-site recreational activities include an on-site fitness center, basketball court, billiards, yoga classes, and ping pong tables. The company also provides complimentary snacks, soda and juice to all Partners.[3]
