Disney Junior around the world

Disney Junior is a programming block on Disney Channel or independent channel that is broadcast in many different countries and regions. The Disney Junior brand, currently existing as 22 channels or blocks in 156 countries and territories, is formely Playhouse Disney. [1]

Asia Pacific

Disney Junior in Asia was launched in 2011. The programs are similar to the Disney Junior in the United States of America. However the channel may also carry some non-Disney programming like Clifford the Big Red Dog, and Harry and His Bucket Full of Dinosaurs. Programming on the channel is uninterrupted by commercials. Disney Junior is available on SkyCable channel 38, Global Destiny Cable, Cablelink and selected cable affiliates nationwide in the Philippines, Astro in Malaysia, Indovision, First Media and Astro Nusantara in Indonesia and StarHub TV in Singapore.

Hong Kong

India

Japan

In Japan Disney Junior is a programming block from weekday 7:30am to 2:30pm And as Weekend 7:30pm to 10:00am

Taiwan

In Taiwan Disney Junior is a programming block from 8am to 2pm on weekday, and 7am to 9am on weekend. Disney Junior block on disney channel launched in September 1, 2011. Playhouse Disney block on Disney Channel was closed in June 2011, followed by summer special.

Australia and New Zealand

Playhouse Disney broadcasts as a television block on Disney Channel Middle East, and it's called Playhouse Disney Morning.

Playhouse Disney is also an Arabian TV channel, but closes at 8pm for KidsCo.

June 1 2011 Disney Junior replaced by Playhouse Disney.

Europe

Netherlands & Flanders

Disney Junior will launch on September 1, 2011 and will replace The Playhouse Disney block on Disney Channel. The Disney Junior TV Channel will replace the Playhouse Disney TV Channel on September 10, 2011

Central and Eastern Europe

Disney Junior in Central and Eastern Europe was launched on the same day as Disney Channel (Central and Eastern Europe), as Playhouse Disney on September 19, 2009. It was launched as Disney Junior on June 1, 2011.

France

Playhouse Disney was launched as a morning block on Disney Channel Greece. June 1, 2011 it was rebranded as Disney Junior.

Israel

Disney Junior launched on July 18, 2011 on YES.

Italy

Playhouse Disney was launched on May 1, 2006, broadcasting everyday showing many of the same shows the US looks. On May 14, 2011, it was replaced by Disney Junior.

Poland

Playhouse Disney was launched in December 2006 as a block on Disney Channel Poland. Also, on August 1, 2010 it replaced Jetix Play. As of June 2011, it was rebranded as Disney Junior.

Portugal

Playhouse Disney Portugal was launched as a block on September 8, 2007 on Disney Channel Portugal.

Romania

It broadcasts as a television block on Disney Channel Romania it's called Playhouse Disney on Disney Channel.

Russia

Playhouse Disney (Russian: “Узнавайка Disney”) was launched on August 12, 2010 as a block on Disney Channel Russia. in 2012 Disney Junior on Disney Channel Russia replaced by Playhouse Disney on disney channel

Scandinavia

Spain

Playhouse Disney was launched on December 25, 2002. Broadcasts shows such as Guess with Jess, Caillou, and Nelly and Caesar. It was replaced by Disney Junior on June 1, 2011.

Turkey

Playhouse Disney was launched in April 2007 as a block on Disney Channel Turkey. on September 1, 2010, it started as a TV channel.

UK and Ireland

Playhouse Disney was launched on September 29, 2000. It was rebranded as Disney Junior on May 7, 2011.

Americas

Canada

An English-language Canadian version launched on November 30, 2007 as a multiplex channel of Family.It is also a programming block on Family which airs from 4:30am to 7:00am,and from 8:45 to 11:00am on weekdays. It also airs from 4:30am to 8:00am on weekends. A French-language Canadian version, Playhouse Disney Télé, launched on July 5, 2010 under its own licence. These are the only Playhouse Disney channels in the world which are not owned by The Walt Disney Company due to CRTC restrictions; they are owned by Astral Media under license.Playhouse Disney Channel Canada,and Playhouse Disney Tele were rebranded as Disney Junior on May 6, 2011.

Latin America

Disney Junior Latin America launched June 1, 2008, as Playhouse Disney Channel.[2] It is also a programming block on the mornings of Disney Channel Latin America, Disney Junior en Disney Channel. The programming is very similar to the version of the United States. It is broadcast in two feeds, North Zone and South Zone. It was relaunched as Disney Junior on April 1, 2011.

Brazil

Disney Junior is aired both on Disney Channel Brazil mornings (as Disney Junior no Disney Channel) and its dedicated Disney Junior channel, launched in Brazil on September 5, 2008 as Playhouse Disney Channel, and relaunched as Disney Junior on April 9, 2011, & May 31, 2011
