Drsnik (Serbian: Дрсник) is a village/settlement in the Klina municipality of Kosovo.[1]
It is a settlement which has had a strong Serbian majority. In June of 1999 the Serbian population fled due to war. Serbs returned to the village after five years, on June of 2005.[2] The church of St. Paraskeva, which dates back to the 16th century, was completely torched inside in June 1999 and is undergoing complete renewal and restoration of the surviving frescoes.[3]
The serbs still face violence, as some Serbian homes have been burned in 2009.[4] Detainment also occurs.[5][6]
Population
No census has been held in Kosovo since 1991, so modern population data is not available. Data for 1991 may not reflect the correct number of Albanians that year, as they largely boycotted that census.
