Major General George B. McClellan is an equestrian statue in Washington, D.C., by Frederick William MacMonnies, (1863–1937).

It is located at the intersection of Connecticut Avenue, Columbia Road, and California Street, N.W. Washington D.C.[1]

It was approved by an act of Congress on March 3, 1901 (31 Stat. 1174). A competition was held by the McClellan Statue Commission, but the entries were thrown out, and MacMonnies was selected. Augustus Saint-Gaudens was on the commission, and was a teacher of MacMonnies.[2] It cost $50,000. It was exhibited at the Paris Salon of 1906. It was dedicated on May 2, 1907. The statue is a contributing monument to the Civil War Monuments in Washington, DC, of the National Register of Historic Places.
