Sileshi Sihine (born
January 29 ,1983 inSheno ) is anEthiopia n long-distance athlete.He achieved a
silver medal in the10,000 m at the2004 Athens Olympics and the2008 Beijing Olympics as well as at the2005 World Championships and2007 World Championships as well as a bronze in 2003. He also picked up asilver medal in the 5000 m at the2005 World Championships .History
He began running at school, inspired by the achievements of his compatriot
Haile Gebrselassie , and after success at junior level, he emerged as a leading senior athlete in 2003.He was one of the three Ethiopians, along with
Kenenisa Bekele andHaile Gebrselassie who swept the gold, silver, bronze medals in the 10000m of 2003 World Championships.He won a
silver medal in the 10000 m at the 2004 Athens Olympics, behind his compatriotKenenisa Bekele .
