Arthur Benjamin Kemp (born September 14, 1962) is a British writer, speaker, activist and political figure who has been the Foreign Affairs Spokesperson for the British National Party and was responsible for the content of that party's website. He was born in Southern Rhodesia and worked as a journalist in South Africa before moving to the United Kingdom. His most noted works are March of the Titans: a History of the White Race and Victory or Violence: the Story of the AWB.

Kemp is known for his philosophy of race, which is broadly speaking in favour of white separatism, and he strongly criticizes miscegenation. He also asserts that race has been the key factor in determining human history, and says that the numerical presence of racially similar individuals in a geographical region determines the nature of a society.

Biography

Career in South Africa

Arthur Kemp was born in Southern Rhodesia,[1] spending his formative early political years in South Africa. Kemp worked as a journalist for the South African Conservative Party, which opposed South Africa's transition to universal suffrage,[1] and wrote for The Citizen newspaper.[2]

Kemp was conscripted and served as a sergeant in the uniform branch of the South African Police in Johannesburg from 1987 to 1988.[2]

In 1993 Kemp was a witness in the prosecution relating to the murder of South African Communist Party leader Chris Hani.[3] A 2007 report from the Southern Poverty Law Center asserted that he left South Africa because he was seen to have betrayed those convicted of the murder, Janusz Waluś and Clive Derby-Lewis, by giving "testimony against the Derby-Lewises".[4] On his personal website Kemp dismissed the SPLC's report as "total rubbish", saying they didn't even get his year of birth correct, whether 1962 or 1963.[5] Kemp also provided a referenced list of exactly what the evidence presented in court entailed,[6] which included the revelation that Clive Derby-Lewis had given Kemp's name to the police, not the other way round as the SPLC alleged.[7]

British National Party

Having moved to the UK in 1996,[8] Kemp used to be manager of Excalibur, the British National Party (BNP)'s merchandising arm, but as of November 2010, no longer held that position.[9] Kemp was then placed in charge of maintaining the BNP website.[10]

Andrew Johnson of The Independent wrote that Kemp "was spotted in the BNP's election headquarters in Wales preparing thousands of campaign leaflets.[8][11] The BNP released a video of the Euro election leaflet operation which provided evidence that the operation was under the control of Birmingham BNP activist Richard Lumby.[12]

In March 2011, Kemp resigned from all positions in the party including that of web editor, foreign affairs spokesman and Advisory Council member. No official reason was given for the move.[13]

On September 2, 2011, Kemp announced on his blog that he was no longer a member of the BNP. [14]

Publications

In 1990 in South Africa he published a book on the Afrikaner Weerstandsbeweging (AWB - Afrikaner Resistance Movement) Victory Or Violence - The Story of the AWB, which he re-published in 2009 as Victory Or Violence - The Story of the AWB of South Africa.

Kemp has more recently written and self-published several books including March of the Titans: a history of the White Race, which says that race—understood in biological terms — is the driving engine in history.[15] An article in The Guardian claims that the book also questions the number of Jews killed in the Second World War, and "is popular with far-right activists around the world."[8]

According to the SPLC, in 2005, when Kemp's byline started appearing in National Alliance publications, the group awarded him the "Dr. William Pierce Award for Investigative Journalism," which brought with it a $250 prize, for his article in National Vanguard, "White South Africa: What Went Wrong?"[4] That article had appeared on the internet prior to its publication in National Vanguard magazine and has appeared on Kemp's blog and in a book he published a book called The Lie of Apartheid.[16]
