Mark Beard (born 8 October 1974 in Roehampton) is a former English football defender, currently managing Tooting & Mitcham United.[2] Before his appointment at Tooting & Mitcham, Beard had been in charge of Sussex County Football League Division Three outfit, Haywards Heath Town.

Mark started his football career with Millwall F.C as an YTS in 1991. He was captain of the successful youth team that won the F.A Youth Cup, Southern Junior Cup and finished runners up in the South East Counties league.

Mark then signed his first professional contract with Mick McCarthy and made his debut in the Championship as an 18-year-old against Watford. He went on to make 18 appearances that season scoring one goal. The following season he was a regular in the 1st team with the highlight scoring against Arsenal in the F.A Cup win at Highbury.

He was transferred to Sheffield United F.C the following season for £117,500 with Dave Bassett signing him.

After three seasons at Sheffield United Mark joined Southend United where he spent four years in two spells.

Mark had two spells at Kingstonian before moving to U.D San Pedro in the Spanish 3rd Division. After a 2 year spell in Spain, Mark moved to Stevenage Boro in the Blue Square Premier. He won the F.A Trophy in the first competitive Cup Final at the New Wembley, beating Kidderminster 3-2. Mark then moved to AFC Wimbledon where he helped them get promotion to the Blue Square South.

In 2009/10, Mark was manager of Hayward’s Heath Town FC in the Sussex County Division. .

He was appointed manager of Ryman Premier League Team, Tooting and Mitcham United FC in July 2010.
