Martha Hamlett

Martha Clowdis Hamlett is a children's poem writer and children's book author who write Bats in the Air, Bats in My Hair.[1] Hamlett currently resides with her family in Lynchburg, Virginia.[2] Hamlett has performed several readings and signings at bookstores and schools.[3] She was noted in several newspapers including The Altavista Journal, The Index Journal, and Greenwood Today.[4][5] Hamlett was interviewed by Don McCauley on the radio show, The Children Authors Show, on June 25, 2009.[6] Hamlett's children's poetry has been featured on poetry.com. Hamlett spoke July 17, 2009, at Longwood University's Literary Conference on the topic of success through persistence and imagination.[7]

  1. Bats in the Air, Bats in My Hair (2008)
The story is about a childhood experience Hamlett had when she was a young girl who spent the night at her grandmother's house and bats got in the bedroom that she was sleeping in. The book format is a rhyme-filled picture book.[8]
