Background

In an interview with Vibe.com, Game first announced "Martians vs. Goblins" as a collaboration with Tyler, the Creator.

Oh yeah, Tyler [The Creator] is on the album. I forgot about him. He ain't really doing features for nobody. He feels like fuck everything and I don't blame him either. It's a California thing, and I got respect for him and his hustle and what they're doing and just being kids and being rebels for the cause,” Game said of recently befriending the Odd Future frontman.[1]
And he respects me for doing what I did for California and the West Coast, I guess. I met him at a Diddy concert and we chopped it up and we got a song called ‘Martians vs Goblins.’ It's dope.[1]

Controversy

Rihanna, Snoop Dogg, Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj and Bruno Mars are some of the artists mentioned on the track.

In the song, Game takes shots at Rihanna, Lil B, Spider Loc, Erykah Badu, Gloria James (as "Lebron's mom"), and Jim Jones. Tyler takes shots at Chris Brown (as "Christopher"), Bruno Mars, Tyler Perry, Eddie Long (as "Bishop Eddie"), Nicki Minaj, and Lebron James.[2]

Self-Criticism

Game also criticizes himself when Lil Wayne says, "Fuck with me" and Game responds "I do, cause Tunechi always bless me (Achoo), he killed me on my own track, so what? Not you?" .Game states that Lil Wayne was better than him in both "My Life" and "Red Nation".

Music Video

The official music video for the song was announced in a backstage video after a concert of Game and Tyler, The Creator, it will be released soon.

Chart performance

"Martians vs. Goblins" debuted at #100 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart based on digital sales alone, even though it was never released as an official single off the album.[3]
