Mayank Dholakiya

Mayank Dholakiya (sometimes also referred as 'Mayank Dholakia') (born on 9 Nov 1955, died on 14 Jul 2006 at the age 51 years) was Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad graduate, a professor of Strategy Management and dean at Faculty of Management Studies, The M S University of Baroda for six years.^[1][2] He had worked in industries for 16 years. He was an excellent orator, quiz master and was associated with NAAC, IITs, GCET, BMA, etc.

Education

• Prof. Dholakiya did his B.Com from Faculty of Commerce, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. He was awarded a Gold Medal for standing first in the faculty.^[1]
• He did PGDBA from Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. He stood first in Finance stream of the batch.^[1]
• He also passed the exam of Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India and won the All India President's Medal for standing the first.^[3][4]

Professional Association and Recognition

• His paper on Strategic Enterprise Management - Indian Challenge in the Next Millennium at the Asian Productivity Organisation, Tokyo, Japan was rated the best paper among representatives from 18 countries.^[5]
• He was the President's nominee in the selection committee of IITs.^[1]
• He was also a member of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).^[1]
• He was also a director at Munjal Auto Industries Limited.^[4]
• He had worked for 16 years is in various organisations like ABB Ltd., Jyoti Consultants Ltd. and as director at Digital Innovations Pvt. Ltd and Digitech International.^[5]

Personal life

He spent most of his life in Vadodara to take care of his father. He had one daughter. He had a tumor on Pancreas. In 2005, he was found completely cured from the pancreas cancer.^[6]
