Medientage Munich

Medientage Munich

Medientage Munich is a conference held each year in Munich, Germany that supports the relationships between computer games and other entertainment media. It was started in 2008 and is held at the Mathäser Filmpalast in Munich.

It is different from Games Convention in Leipzig which is primarily promotional about video games, the conference involves leading members of the local government of Bavaria and the Federal Government of Germany.

The keynote addresses for the 2009 event, held April 1–3, 2009, were given by pioneer game designer Don Daglow and by Bernd Neumann, Germany’s Minister of State for Cultural Affairs. The conference also featured extensive coverage of issues involving violence and video games.

The opening night of the conference includes the German Computer Game Awards and is held at the BMW Welt complex in Munich.

The conference concludes with an event for parents about supervising and enhancing children's use of computer games, and about using computer games in education.
