1 In February 1976, Labor MLA Susan Ryan was replaced by John Clements.
2 On 5 November 1976, Liberal MLA Raymond Saunders was replaced by George Paulus.
3 On 12 October 1977, Liberal MLA Trevor Kaine was replaced by Ronald Bell, and Labor MLA Gordon Walsh was replaced by Paul Whalan.
4 In 1977, Liberal MLA Peter Hughes and Australia Party MLA Maureen Worsley left their parties to become Independents.
5 In 1977, the Australia Party became the Australian Democrats; Australia Party MLA Ivor Vivian joined the latter party.
6 On 22 February 1978, Independent MLA Allan Fraser was replaced by Thomas Pye.
