Messy Music Style is a new genre of music developed as a chemistry blend of all popular music mixed together with poetry or a rhyme scheme as the lyric.[1] The blending of this type of music stems from the origins of hip hop music using sampling. Messy Music mostly consists of six genres of music: hip hop, rock, reggae, folk, pop music, and country music. The genre was started by Universal Records musician, Michael Barber.[2]
The combination of six types of music blended together is done by using a country style guitar with hip hop style drums and bass with pop lyrics. Any mixture works for this new style of music. Nine Inch Nails frontman, Trent Reznor has been a key member of creating this new sound. His rock and rap mixtures seemed to pave the way.[3]
The development of the newest music genre, Messy Music, is going to be an option for artists to use on myspace as well as other sites as early as this fall.[4]
