Mikhail Uladzimiravich Myasnikovich (Belarusian: Міхаіл Уладзіміравіч Мясніковіч, Belarusian pronunciation: [mʲixail ulad͡zʲimʲiravʲit͡ʃ mʲasnʲikovʲit͡ʃ]; Russian: Михаил Владимирович Мясникович; born Novy Snov, Nesvizh district, Minsk Region, BSSR, Soviet Union, 6 May 1950)[1] is the current Prime Minister of Belarus. He was appointed Prime Minister by President Alexander Lukashenko following the 2010 presidential election.[2]

Personal life

He graduated from the Brest Engineering and Construction Institute in 1972 and the Communist Party School in 1989 in Minsk. He has a PhD in economics.[1] and has worked as an engineer in the construction industry.[citation needed] He also speaks English and has a son, daughter and two grandchildren.[1]

Career

He was the former head of Administration in the President's Office (1995—2001) and chairman of National Academy of Sciences (2001-2010)[1]
