Mohamed Azzaoui (born December 1, 1975 in Mostaganem) is a retired amateur boxer from Algeria, who is best known for winning the gold medal in the men's heavyweight division (– 91 kg) at the 1999 All-Africa Games in Johannesburg, South Africa. He represented his native country at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia, where he was defeated in the first round by Jackson Chanet from France. Mohamed Azzaoui is married to NZ native, Mihi-Amai Kelly Puriri. They have three beautiful children - Iman (5), Asiya (2) and Zakaria (8 months). They are all NZ Citizens and normally reside in New Zealand however are currently in Algeria.
