Morris Island (Antarctica)

Morris Island is an ice-covered island about 7 nautical miles (13 km) long, lying 5 nautical miles (9 km) west of Farmer Island in Sulzberger Ice Shelf. Mapped by United States Geological Survey (USGS) from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos, 1959-65. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for Lieutenant (j.g.)J.E. Morris, U.S. Navy Reserve, aboard USS Glacier along this coast in 1961-62.
