  • New Order's 'Blue Monday' includes the re-mixed version of the original as this was finally made available on seven inch for the first time in 1988 [47] with almost the same catalogue number and sales for this shorter version and the original were combined when calculating it's chart position. The second re-mix of 1995 [48] charted for 4 weeks but is excluded from this list.
  • In addition to Slade's 50 week chart count for 'Merry Xmas Everybody' they also had two re-mixes of the single which do not count in the above list as they were a re-recorded with other artists and were not the original song. The first being a re-recording in 1980 credited to Slade and the Reading Choir; the second being a re-mix in 1998 credited to Slade vs Flush.[49]
  • Grandmaster Melle Mel's 'White Lines (Don't Don't do it)' was re-mixed in 1994[50] as 'White Lines (Don't do it) and charted for an additional 3 weeks. It was also re-recorded in 1995[51] by Duran Duran featuring Melle Mel and Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five and charted for another 5 weeks. These are not counted in the above list.
  • It is also worth mentioning Baddiel and Skinner and The Lightning Seeds famous song Three Lions which although isn't yet elligible for the above list for either version has clocked up an impressive 46 weeks [52] on the UK Singles Chart Top 75 under the guise of Three Lions and Three Lions '98. Originally released in 1996 as Three Lions; subsequently released in 1998 and re-issued in 2002 as Three Lions '98 then re-issued in 2006 as Three Lions/Three Lions '98 as a dualdisc. In 2010 Three Lions charted once again due to downloads. It was also released in 2010 [53] by The Squad aptly called Three Lions 2010 clocking up a further 5 weeks in addition to the 46 weeks.
