Mullion Island

Mullion Island is an uninhabited island about half a mile (0.8 km) offshore from Mullion in Cornwall, in the south west of England, UK.

The island is owned by the National Trust and is occupied by large colonies of seabirds. It forms part of the Lizard Peninsula Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Mullion Cliff to Predannack Cliff Site of Special Scientific Interest.[1]

The island was previously owned by the Robartes family of Lanhydrock.[2]

Geologically, the principal mass of the island is a fine-grained greenstone.[3] Some six hundred yards north-east of Pedncrifton Point, the highest point of the island stands 118 feet above the high water level.[4]
