The Anyang child murders involved ten-year-old Lee Hye-jin (이혜진) and her eight-year-old friend Woo Ye-seul (우예슬), who went missing on Christmas Day 2007.[where?] Their bodies were discovered in March 2008 when Hye-jin's body was discovered in woods and Ye-seul's remains were found in a forest. 40 year old Jeong Sung-hyun confessed that he had kidnapped, raped and killed the two girls, which caused outrage in South Korea until Sung-hyun's suicide in 2009.
