Jallianwala Bagh

Jallianwala Bagh is a public garden in Amritsar city in Punjab province of India, and houses a memorial of national importance, established in 1951 to commemorate the murder of up to 2,000 peaceful demonstrators on occasion of Punjabi New Year on April 13, 1919 in Jallianwala Bagh Massacre.

The convert|6.5|acre|m2|sing=on garden site of the massacre is located in vicinity of Golden Temple complex, the holiest shrine of Sikhism.

The memorial is managed by "Jallianwala Bagh National Memorial Trust", which was established as per "Jallianwala Bagh National Memorial Act" passed by Government of India in year 1951.
