Subdivisions: Nancere (A.2.1)Gabri proper (A.2.2)The Nancere–Gabri languages, the East Chadic A.2 group of the Afro-Asiatic family and are spoken in Chad.[1]
The languages fall into two branches:
- Nancere: Nancere, Kimré, Lele
- Gabri proper: Gabri, Kabalai, Tobanga
Languages in both branches go by the names of Kimre and Gabri. The branch of Gabri languages proper is given that name to distinguish it from Nancere–Gabri, which are sometimes also called Gabri languages.
