The National Ambulance Service College (NASC)(Irish: Coláiste Náisiúinta tSeirbhís Otharcarr) is a state-recognised educational institution of Ireland. It was first established in 1986 as the National Ambulance Training School and is based at St. Mary's Hospital in the Phoenix Park, Dublin with a second campus based in Ballinasloe, Co. Galway known as NASC West. The college provides certified emergency medical and ambulance related training to both ambulance personnel, state agencies, private companies and individuals. It is owned and operated by the HSE's National Ambulance Service and provides most of its courses in conjunction with the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC). As of 2008, the college is no longer in a position to provide training to individuals who wish to take the Emergency Medical Technician course as a result of changing standards. The course, along with the Paramedic programme are only available to employees of PHECC accredited statutory emergency services and private ambulance organisations.
