The National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (Urdu: قومی کونسل براۓ فروغ ارد و زبان, Qaumī kaunsala barā'ē-farōġa-ai-urdū-zabān) (NCPUL) is an autonomous regulatory body in the Government of India. It is the main authority of Urdu language and education in India, being one of two authorities responsible for the regulation of Urdu, the other being the National Language Authority of Pakistan.

Functions and Objectives of the NCPUL

  • To make available knowledge of scientific and technological development and ideas evolved in the modern context in Urdu.
  • Promotion of the Urdu language.
  • Provide diplomas in Urdu.
  • Increase IT literacy in Urdu.
  • Provide Publications in Urdu
