National Federation of Press Women

National Federation of Press Women

The National Federation of Press Women, (NFPW), founded in 1937, is a US-based organization for men and women in electronic, broadcast and print journalism.[1][2]

NFPW was founded in 1937 by a group of women who met at the Chicago Women's Club in order to promote communication between women writers, and advance the interests and standards of women in the press.

Part of the coalition founding the National Women's History Museum, the NFPW supports literacy and women's rights as well as freedom of information and advocates for First Amendment issues.

Competitions

Each year the NFPW sponsors competitions to reward excellence in communication.[3] Winners are honored at the NFPW Annual Communications Contest Awards Banquet, which is held in September.
