Mission

National Philanthropic Trust (NPT) is an independent public charity specializing in "tailored philanthropic solutions" for individuals, families, companies and foundations. NPT also partners with financial service firms and professional advisors, providing them with philanthropic products and services to offer their clients. It is based in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania.

Financial Overview

The charity was founded in 1996, and from 2003–2009, NPT has been one of the 100 fastest growing charities in the United States. It also ranks among the 35 largest grantmaking institutions in the United States. Since its founding, NPT has raised over $1.8 billion in charitable contributions, and currently manages $700 million in assets. NPT has made more than 37,000 grants totaling $1 billion to charities throughout the United States and overseas.[citation needed]

Philanthropic Services

NPT offers donor advised funds, supporting organizations and field of interest funds.

NPT provides offerings in the following areas:

Contributions: Accepts a range of gifts, including securities, bonds, privately-held and restricted stock, real estate, bequests, transfers and grants from private foundations and many other assets.

Investments: Offers investments in a wide range of investment vehicles including exchange traded funds, mutual funds, separately managed accounts and private investments.

Grantmaking: Provides specialized grantmaking including international, anonymous, and multi-year grants, and complex grant agreements such as securing naming rights and endowing chairs at universities.

Succession: Creates philanthropic legacies for families or for charities that can be multi-generational or multi-party and can exist for a period of time or in perpetuity.
