[4] NME reviewer John Doran noted that "the nakedness of the music suggests a confessional nature" while celebrating "the arrival of a fresh and invigorating voice" and awarding a 9 out of 10 rating.[3] Reviewing the album for Drowned in Sound, Simon Jay Catling described it as "a fairly promising debut" but remarked that "the constant signposts can be a bit repetitive".[2]
