It was also released April 2009 in the United Kingdom.[11] The album debuted at number 19 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart, selling 23,000 copies in its first week.[12] Upon its release, The Way I See It received generally positive reviews from most music critics, based on an aggregate score of 79/100 from Metacritic.[13] It was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best R&B Album, losing to Jennifer Hudson's self-titled debut album at the 51st Grammy Awards.
