Location

The station was at the seaward end of the 1,375 feet (419 m) New Holland Pier.[1]

History

The station was opened on 1 March 1848[2] as the northern terminus of the Great Grimsby and Sheffield Junction Railway from New Holland to Grimsby Town, with trains using the pier from the first day.[1] It was closed and the ferry withdrawn on 24 June 1981 on the same day that the Humber Bridge opened.[3] New Holland pier was taken over by New Holland Bulk Services who started a grain and feed import and export business in 1984.[4]

Both New Holland Pier and New Holland Town stations were replaced by a new New Holland railway station in 1981.
