New River Elementary School

New River Elementary School

New River Elementary School is located in the foothills of the Sonoran Desert, 20 miles north of Phoenix, Arizona. New River Elementary School is the oldest school in the Deer Valley Unified School District. It began as a one room school with eight students in 1934. It was first known as the Sierra Vista School. The original Teacherage, where the first teacher lived and taught, still stands at the south end of the campus.[1]
