The New Zealand Music Hall of Fame is a hall of fame dedicated to noteworthy musicians from New Zealand. The Recording Industry Association of New Zealand (RIANZ) and Australasian Performing Right Association (APRA) announced their intentions to create the hall of fame in August 2007.[1] Two musicians are inducted into the hall each year,[2] one at the APRA Silver Scroll Awards, decided by APRA, and the other is the winner of the Legacy Awards at the New Zealand Music Awards (NZMAs), picked by RIANZ.[3]

As of January 2011, nine artists have been inducted into the hall. The Exponents frontman Jordan Luck was the inaugural inductee, honoured with the title at the 2007 APRA Silver Scroll Awards. Later in the year, rock musician Johnny Devlin was awarded the salutation at the New Zealand Music Awards. Comedians and country musicians the Topp Twins and rock band Straitjacket Fits were inducted the following year. In 2009, APRA selected traditional Māori instrumentalists,[4] Hirini Melbourne and Richard Nunns, to be commissioned into the hall, while RIANZ chose 1960s rock band Ray Columbus and the Invaders to be presented with the accolade. Rock group The Fourmyula was approved into the hall in September 2010, while at the 2010 NZMAs Shihad were inducted into the hall of fame.
