Nim Vind is a solo musician/artist. He describes his sound as "Music for Outsiders".[1] He has no specific genre but his music is sometimes referred to as Horrorpunk.[2] His influences range from The Misfits, Bowie, and The Doors, to Ennio Morricone and Bruce Springsteen, to Deadmau5 and Elvis, to The Beach Boys and Nirvana and even Megadeth and Metallica.[3][4] He is sometimes compared to Social Distortion and Volbeat.[5][6] He has released two albums, The Fashion of Fear (2005) on Fiendforce Records and Nv Music and The Stillness Illness (2009) on Silverdust Records and BEEF Records Inc/Nv Music.

History

Chris Kirkham aka Nim Vind started his first band called Mr.Underhill. The idea for the sound of the band was to mix the art of Bauhaus with the hooky attack of the Misfits/Bowie. It featured Nim Vind and two other players but Nim's brothers Robbie and Anthony would both eventually join. There are 2 Mr.Underhill EPs that were recorded. The first was"Vamp" leaning towards a Bauhaus sound, the second is "Phantasm Drive-In" leaning more in a Misfits/Bowie direction. A 3rd album of lost material was recorded as well but never released to the public. All EP's were only sold at live shows and very select stores. Mr.Underhill gained a stronge cult following thanks largely to word of mouth and websites like the original Mp3.com in which they were a prominently featured band.[7] The brothers were represented by Entertainment Lawyer Jonathan Simkin and were especially known for their eccentric outfits featuring giant black hair, long black coats and smeared black make-up, as well as their underground hit "Phantasm Drive-In".[8] Mr.Underhill ended and two bands were formed being Nim Vind(Chris's band) and The Vincent Black Shadow (Rob). Rob's band The Vincent Black Shadow incorporated the brothers and enjoyed success at major American radio with the single "Metro".[9] TVBS, as it is referred to by fans,[citation needed] was managed by Jonny Z who signed Metallica, and completed a number of tours, such as "The Vans Warped Tour", Joan Jett, as well as playing live on Much Music, FUSE TV USA and others.[10] Nim Vind recorded his first album The Fashion of Fear and signed with Germany's Fiendforce Records to release the album and tour in Europe. He has gone on to share stages with Tiger Army, Balzac, The Misfits, Filter, Peter Murphy of Bauhaus, Michale Graves, Demented Are Go, New Model Army, Todd Kerns from Slash and others.[11]
