The Northern Iowa–Southern Illinois rivalry is the college football rivalry between the University of Northern Iowa and University of Southern Illinois. Both of the schools are in the Missouri Valley Football Conference. Together they combine to hold 20 of 33 possible MVFC titles, with Northern Iowa having 15 and Southern Illinois holding five. As of 2010, the Northern Iowa Panthers and Southern Illinois Salukis have met 29 times, beginning in 1965. The Northern Iowa-Southern Illinois game alternates between being played at Saluki Stadium in even-numbered years and UNI-Dome in odd-numbered years.

History

Northern Iowa has a 12-3 record in home games and a record of 4-11 in away games. Southern Illinois has a record of 11-4 in home games and a record of 3-12 in away games.
