NPSS Nitro Piston Air Rifle : Most air rifle uses compressed air to drive the pellet (bullet) out of the barrel instead of using gun powder. When the trigger of an air rifle is pulled, the compressed air releases its force, which acts as the "firing" power in lieu of the gun powder. The problem with compressed-air is it has several dependents, such as the temperature and the humidity. Nitrogen is an inert gas. It is less affected by these two factors, which thus affect the resultant air-propelled pellet accuracy. Nitrogen therefore gives the "air" gun a greater accuracy besides giving the gunner a more powerful (or faster) fps. A normal compresssed air rifle would have on average a muussel velocity speed of about 400 fps to 550 fps, where as the nitrogen powered rifle's pellet can sometimes a terminal velocity of 1,250 fps, faster than the speed of sound. An analogous would be using notrogen gas in Formula One Racing cars instead of compressed air. Hence the use.
