The 2nd Nuestra Belleza México pageant, was held at the Teatro Morelos of Toluca, Estado de México, Mexico on October 22, 1995. Thirty-two contestants competed for the national title, which was won by Vanessa Guzmán of Chihuahua, who later competed in Miss Universe 1996 where she was a semifinalist in the Top 6. Guzmán was crowned by outgoing Nuestra Belleza México titleholder Luz María Zetina. She is the first blonde and only Chihuahuense to win the Nuestra Belleza México Title.

The Title of Nuestra Belleza Mundo México was won by Alejandra Quintero of Nuevo León, who later competed in Miss World 1995 where she was a semifinalist in the Top 10. Quintero was crowned by outgoing Nuestra Belleza México titleholder Luz María Zetina and Lupita Jones. She is the first Nuevoleonesa to win the Nuestra Belleza Mundo México Title.

Nuestra Belleza México negotiated the license of international Miss World contest in this year . The contest Nuestra Belleza México is strengthened by offering their candidates two options for participating in the events of greater global significance: Miss Universe and Miss World. This year, Lupita Jones won the Miss World franchise and the right to send representatives to this event.

Historical Significance

  • Chihuahua won the Title of Nuestra Belleza México for the first time.
  • Nuevo León won the Title of Nuestra Belleza Mundo México for the first time.
  • The 32 delegates from the States of México entered the stage singing the Official Anthem of the Nuestra Belleza México pageant wearing the typical dress of the State pageant headquarters: Estado de México.
  • Lupita Jones gets the license of the Miss World contest to send the Mexican representative to this event.
  • Semifinal Competition held on the same stage one day before.
  • States who also entered the top 16 previous year were Aguascalientes, Colima, Distrito Federal, Jalisco, Nuevo León, Querétaro, Sinaloa, Sonora and Tlaxcala.
  • Baja California, Chihuahua, Guanajuato, Guerrero, Nayarit, San Luis Potosí and Veracruz were called to the semifinals for the first time.

  • Raúl Velasco hosted this pageant for the second consecutive time.
  • Veracruz won the Best Hair Award for the first time.
  • San Luis Potosí won Miss Dorian Grey for the first time.
  • The host delegate, María Guadalupe Flores of the Estado de México, failed to place in the semifinals.

  • Chihuahua - Vanessa Guzmán participed in Miss Universe 1996 held at the Theatre for the Performing Arts in the Aladdin Resort and Casino, in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA on May 17, 1996 where she made the top 6 in the pageant and placed 5th overall, she also won 2nd place in the Best National Costume. In the same year the organization of Nuestra Belleza México designate as the representative of her country in the contest Señorita América Internacional held in El Salvador where she won the 1st place. She began her career as a TV host in the program "Al Ritmo de la Noche", she joined the cast of the Telenovela "Tres Mujeres", "Siempre te Amaré", "Aventuras en el Tiempo", "Entre el Amor y el Odio", "Amar otra Vez" and "Alborada". Her last television work was the series "Amor Mio" 1st and 2nd season in the role of April and she was starring in the telenovela "Atreveté a Soñar", production of Luis de Llano.
  • Guanajuato and Nayarit - were a TV host in their States.
  • Jalisco - Thania Prado received her first break as an actress in the telenovela "Salud, Dinero y Amor", with the release star Emilio Larrosa. She also participated in the Soap Opera "Vivo por Elena". She was part of the cast of the play "Un Engaño no hace Daño". She is also dedicated to modeling.
  • Nuevo León - Alejandra Quintero in Miss World 1995 held in Sun City, South Africa on November 18, 1995, she placing among the semi-finals and placed 6th overall. During 1997, 1998 and 1999 was the image of El Canal de las Estrellas and in many commercial brands. She is married with Alejandro López Franco and they have twin boys.
  • Querétaro - Cytlalhi Galindo was an actress and dancer in her State.
  • Veracruz - Socorro Retolaza was a Top Model in her State and after she represented Mexico in the competition Miss Costa Maya International 1995 held in Belize where she won 1st place.
