Oberstradam Castle

Oberstradam was a Castle in Silesia near Breslau / Wroclaw in todays Poland (former Prussia).

In July 17th 1329 Janco von Gaffron und Oberstradam became Feudal Lord of Oberstradam. All living members of the family are descendants form him. The castle Oberstradam located 45 km east of the city Wroclaw in Lower Silesia, Poland. Un until 1945 Silesia belonged to Germany and it was an self-ruled state with the capital city of Breslau (Wroclaw) as its capital city. The castle is now called Stradomia. Since the Communist regime took power in 1945 and supported by the Soviet Union with a Communist rule the Castle has extensive decay. The castle has been very badly damaged and in large need of renovation.
