The Order for Service to the Homeland in the Armed Forces of the USSR (Russian: Орден "За службу Родине в Вооружённых Силах СССР") also known as Order of Service to Motherland was a USSR military order created on 28 October 1974, making it the first military order created after the end of World War II.

According to its statute, the order was awarded for "exemplary service in the armed forces, both during a war and during peacetime". A recipient was first awarded a 3rd class order, then, if further deeds were made, the second and the first classes. Like the civilian order of Labor Glory upon which it is modelled, it gave a certain number of material benefits to their owners, such as pension raises or free travel in city transports.

As of 1989, the number of decorations awarded was:

  • 13 for 1st class (making it the smallest number of awards ever in the Soviet Union)
  • 589 for 2nd class
  • 69576 for 3rd class
