Eton College societies

Eton College societies

Societies at Eton College are meetings presided over by a Master (teacher) which students attend to discuss particular issues/topics. Most societies invite well-known speakers to come to meetings to speak to the Eton College community, although in some cases, meetings consist of a discussion amongst Etonians or a speech by an Etonian or Master. Among past guest speakers are Andrew Lloyd Webber, JK Rowling, Vivienne Westwood, Ian McKellen, Boris Johnson, Rowan Atkinson, Terry Wogan, Paddy Ashdown, King Constantine II of Greece and Thomas Galbraith, 2nd Baron Strathclyde.[1][2][3][4]
