Other Black (United Kingdom ethnicity category)

Other Black is an ethnicity category used by the Office of National Statistics in the United Kingdom. It is one of three "Black or Black British" ethnicity options used in ONS statistics, alongside Black African and Black Caribbean.[1]

The term was used in the 1991 UK Census and the 2001 UK Census. According to the 2001 Census, 97,585 UK residents selected the Other Black category to describe their ethnicity.[2]

As of 2009, ONS estimates suggest that approximately 124,500 Other Black people are now resident in England.[3]
