Plus belle la vie also known by the acronym PBLV is a French daily feuilleton télévisé (serial) created by Magaly Richard-Serrano, Bénedicte Achard, Georges Desmouceaux et Olivier Szulzynger, and produced by Hubert Besson, Michèle Podroznik and François Charlent. It is aired Monday through Friday at 8:10 PM on France 3 since 30 August 2004.

It deals with the daily life of the inhabitants of an imaginary neighbourhood of Marseille, "Le Mistral", where rich families cross paths with the less than rich.

The drama is organized around two main types of intrigue:

  • The personal lives of the inhabitants of Mistral, their daily strifes and pleasures, the development of their loves and friendships;
  • the criminal intrigues in which some residents of Mistral are involved.

The series averaged 5.3 million viewers and 23.2% audience share every night[1]. On 17 November 2008, Plus belle la vie received its highest ever ratings, with over 6.8 million viewers and 24.9% audience share[2].
