Bachelor of Fine Arts atCarnegie Mellon University in 1964, after which he continued his studies at France's Ecole de Fontainebleau and received hisMaster of Fine Arts fromYale University in 1966. In the 1960's, Mr. Borofsky's art sought to interconnectminimalism andpop art .On May 21, 2006, Mr. Borofsky received an honorary doctorate in Fine Arts from Carnegie Mellon, his alma mater.

Hammering Man sculptures. "Hammering Men" have been installed in various cities around the world. The largest Hammering Man is inFrankfurt ,Germany and the second largest is inSeattle, Washington . Other Hammering Men are inNew York City ,Minneapolis ,Los Angeles ,Basel ,Seoul , andWashington, D.C. .In May 2006, Mr. Borofsky's "Walking to the Sky" [http://www.publicartfund.org/pafweb/projects/04/borofsky_04.html] was permanently installed on the campus of
Carnegie Mellon near the intersection of Forbes Avenue and Morewood Avenue. The piece was temporarily installed atRockefeller Center during the fall of 2004 and in 2005 at theNasher Sculpture Center inDallas, Texas .elected exhibitions
