Five Elders

In Southern Chinese folklore, the Five Elders (zh-cp |c=五祖 |p=wǔ zǔ; Yale Cantonese: ng5 jou2) are survivors of the destruction of the Shaolin Monastery by the Qing Dynasty (1644–1912).

The Triad Five Elders

The Tiandihui/Hongmen claims that it was founded by the Five Elders and names them as
* Choi Tak-Chung (蔡德忠)
* Fong Tai-Hung (方大洪)
* Ma Chiu-Hing (馬超興)
* Wu Tak-Tai (胡德帝)
* Lee Sik-Hoi (李式開).

Sometimes the founders of the five major family styles of Southern Chinese martial arts, all students of Jee Sin, are also called the Five Elders.
