José Fernando Ferreira Mendes

José F.F. Mendes (born in Porto on June 22, 1965) is a Portuguese physicist (statistical physics) and at University of Aveiro (Portugal).

In 2004 Mendes was awarded by Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian with the prize "Gulbenkian Ciência 2004".

José Mendes (see origin of Mendes name) is best known because of the book "" (co-author with Sergey Dorogovtsev) published in 2003 by Oxford University Press,
