Hall i' th' Wood railway station (pronounced as "all" "i" "thwud") is the last stop before Bolton on the Northern Rail franchise's "Ribble Valley Line" line into Blackburn and Clitheroe.

The station is located in the middle of a housing estate and forms an unofficial footpath between the two sidescite web|url=http://www.dft.gov.uk/pgr/crime/personalsecurity/securetransportroutemanchest3006?page=3|title=Secure transport route - Manchester to Clitheroe pilot|date=2006-01-26|accessdate=2008-03-27|publisher=Department of Transport] . It is is in a state of disrepairfact|date=March 2008 and has high levels of crime compared to other stations on the line. In March 2008 work began on a new car park for the station [cite web|url=http://www.thisislancashire.co.uk/news/leigh/display.var.2107801.0.work_starts_on_new_rail_station_car_parks.php|title=Work starts on new rail station car parks|date=2008-03-10|accessdate=2008-03-27|work=Leigh Journal] .

The name is not a misprint - generations of local accents and dialects have ensured Hall i' th' Wood maintains its local spelling. It takes its name from the nearby Hall i' th' Wood, now a museum which is within walking distance of the station.

ervices

From Hall i' th' Wood there is a daily hourly service towards Clitheroe northbound and Manchester Victoria southbound.
