This album saw McKnight at the height of his career. It sold over 3,000,000 copies within a period of three weeks. It saw cross over success being popular with both R&B and Pop music markets. Back at One, the single off the album, went platinum and is hailed by many as a classic song by McKnight and reached number 1 in the Billboard Charts.
