*Episode 6 entitled "Everybody's Favorite Bagman" is the pilot episode of the series, but it was shown out of order. Although originally produced for CBS in 1988, it never aired on that network. The pilot featured Roy Thinnes as District Attorney Alfred Wentworth [http://www.dickinson.edu/~buchan/law-and-order.html] . Although Steven Hill is listed in the opening credits, he joined the series as District Attorney Adam Schiff after the pilot was filmed. In one scene of the pilot, Greevey and Logan comment on Robinette's recent appointment as ADA although he appeared in the five previous episodes. In syndication and on the first season DVD, this episode appears in the order in which it was originally aired in the season (as episode number 6). *Courtney B. Vance appeared in a minor role in the first-season episode "By Hooker, By Crook". He would later star as a regular in "" as A.D.A. Ron Carver.
