Kadosh is a 1999 Israeli film by director Amos Gitai.

Plot

A drama/feminist film about the writer/director's opinion on the supposed treatment of women as second-class citizens in the Orthodox society. The story begins when Meir, who is an Orthodox Jew, begins to understand how women are poorly regarded when his rabbi suggests that he leave his wife Rivka. They love each other based on affection and mutual respect, but are unable to have children. Meanwhile Rivka's younger sister Malka is engaged to Yossef in a match arranged by their parents, however Malka is in love with another man, Yaakov, who questions the Orthodox faith.
