College Heights Herald

College Heights Herald

The College Heights Herald is the student newspaper of Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky. It is published on Tuesdays and Fridays throughout the fall and spring semesters of the school year. The school provides staff support and facilities for the newspaper but does not exercise editorial control. Called "The Herald" for short, the publication is supported through the sale of advertising and is entirely student-run.

The newspaper has been the recipient of 13 ACP Pacemaker awards, the highest award given to collegiate newspapers (1981, 1982, 1984, 1988, 1992, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2009, 2010), as well as five Gold Crown Awards and three Silver Crown Awards from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA).

The newspaper switched its printing schedule from Tuesdays and Thursdays to Tuesdays and Fridays during the fall 2009 semester.

The newspaper launched a new website on August 28, 2009, leaving behind the College Publisher platform for WordPress.

The Herald is an affiliate of UWIRE [1], which distributes and promotes its content to their network.
