James Mann (writer)

James Mann (1946-) is senior writer-in-residence at the Centre for Strategic International Studies (CSIS). He served as Chief of the Beijing Bureau of the "Los Angeles Times" (1984-89). He is the author of four books: "Beijing Jeep" (Simon & Schuster, 1989), "About Face: A History of America's Curious Relationship With China From Nixon to Clinton" (Knopf, 1999), "Rise of the Vulcans: The History of Bush's War Cabinet" (Viking, 2004), and "The China Fantasy" (Viking, 2007).
